A place to learn, grow and share
On this page, you'll find video tutorials of what we do at our agroecological farm. For more information, please contact us.
How to make COMPOST
WE USE THE AVAILABLE MATERIALS FROM THE FARM
The only external material is molasses, which we mix with water and mountain microorganisms. We try to reuse everything the farm provides. We use cow, goat, and sheep manure, green area clippings, banana leaves that the animals didn't eat, leftover food from the kitchen, coconut fiber with chopped charcoal, and dried leaves.
WE USE THE LAYERING METHOD
We started layering it so that when we turn it over, the materials would blend better. We turn it over once a week, and at the end of a month, we uncover it and let it cool before using it.
WE USE COMPOST FOR NEW PLANTS, AND TREES THAT ARE ALREADY ESTABLISHED
We have over 400 trees on the farm and we're always planting new things. So we use compost as organic fertilizer to give the plants more nutrients.
